What is strange is Windows will not uninstall device drivers by itself, so it's good idea to view the error code of the driver when it's not working.

True, but it's not clear when it will show it again. It must be some sort of software conflict. Because I'm sure it's not from hardware because I did not have this problem on Windows 10 or any other Linux distros I had on this laptop (Mint or Ubuntu)

Could it be because the audio driver I install is NOT for Windows 11 but for Windows 10?

Has there been new modifications?

What is stranger is that this problem emerged a few days ago. At a time when LITERALLY NOTHING unusual happened to the laptop.

Only Windows updates.

Hi,
Just installed on my x299 system
This is an old version but still for win-10 and it seems to have installed better than on my z490 system did

You should be getting your driver from computer manufactures website.
I'll shut down and restart a few times to see if it disappears and let you know if it does.

Thank you for putting in the effort. I mean it.

But Lenovo doesn't seem to provide the proper driver for Windows 11.
laptops and netbooks :: ideapad l series laptop :: l340 15iwl :: 81lg :: 81lg00qbak :: pf1d76dmcontentdetail - Lenovo Support DE

And I downloaded something from its website today but that didn't work either.

I tried driver downloaders like Easy Driver and Driver Talent and many others.

None could fix it.

You're over generalizing! This is not ALWAYS the case. I have both Win10 and Win11 on my desktop and the Win11 network driver from the motherboard site does NOT install in Windows 10. I have tried it several times.

What can be the reason behind the driver auto-uninstalling itself?

Because it's working now.

Should I uninstall it?

And that shows its incompatibility by uninstalling itself automatically?

Has anyone ever encountered a similar problem?

Hi,
Likely getting blocked
Got to love drivers from asus they often have a couple setup.exe files just to confuse people lol

In x299 case it was the smaller .exe file that worked
The larger didn't do much at all it opened a command prompt windows briefly

I did encounter an issue early on when testing 11 but now I don't have any issues with the audio.

The command prompt briefly opens the second time I install the driver after the restart.

This driver is directly from Asus website?

Should it do anything visible to me?

Does nothing in particular upon double-clicking.

Doesn't seem to open.
