Any recommendations for scrubbing old bookmarks?


I've used this one on Brave browser (also chromium based) and it worked well...

It works well for me on all my computers.
I couldn't see many complaints except for a few who didn't know how to run it. You run it from the "Extensions" menu. Just click on "404 Bookmarks". You can also choose "Pin to Toolbar". 404 Bookmarks runs in a new tab.

And that was exactly my problem. Because I always work menu-oriented, I disabled the symbol that leads into the extension menu from the navigation bar. Never had any trouble because all extensions can be used via the Extra Menu / Extensions as well. But not this one.
I temporarerly enabled the symbol adn got it working.

Checkmarks I used before (long ago) to correct the icons in the bookmarks that I imported from another browser.
Did not know (anymore) it's reporting expired bookmarks as well.
So I ran it (did not need to use the extension symbol for that) and I saw it's finding much more problems than 404 Bookmarks.
So many, that I'll have to look into that later.

So thank you for your explanations how to use the two extensions! (y)

I I installed Bookmarks cleanup in Edge Canary and it did a very good job of getting rid of duplicate bookmarks and dead links.
