Hello everyone!
I'm looking for an effective, Windows-compatible app to help me quickly deal with a hard copy file management task. I good chunk of my basement has been "reserved" for an undisclosed number of boxes full of old documents, family photos, magazines, and whatnot, and it's time to restore some order there...
I'll have to open each box (almost all of them are labeled with the year of origin, thank God!) and carefully select which items need further keeping, due to regulatory or sentimental reasons. Then, I'd want to scan them to preserve them digitally as well.
I have a scanner for that part of the process, I'm just asking for which app to use to speed this up.

So, I need an app with:
- built-in optical character recognition
- ways to set up automated routing for the upcoming scans (so that they group themselves, hopefully)
- a fair price, of course...

Any recommendations?
Thanks!

OmniPage does custom workflows, but there are others (free/paid). You might like to compare their features here:

Thanks for your response!
I've also been looking at various articles and guides about the best methods of archiving documents (like this one and this one), so all that's left now is to try out a few of the DMS apps that come with a free trial and easily integrate with Windows. That list is also long, though... Only in these few past days of research, I came across so, so many noteworthy apps: ClickUp, DocuWare, FileCenter, MS SharePoint, Wrike, NetDocuments, M-Files, Adobe Pro, OmniPage (from the article you've shared as well) - it's a bit difficult to settle for one... I guess I'll give precedence to those whose UI will instantly look "logical" to me...
