Having problems downloading software

I am trying to download and make a bootable drive for the Medicat software but am getting nowhere with download . Any advice really appreciated.

My machine tells me that the Rufus software is already running but I cannot find ? any help would very much be appreciated

Right click the Taskbar and select Task Manager and select Processes

If Rufus is running, it will be listed here -

Right-click this entry and select End Task.

Yes Ian I have tried that but the Rufus disappears after a few seconds?

It will disappear if you select End Task. Have you tried re-booting? Updating Windows 11?

Ok Ian but when I try to install the latest version of Rufus it is telling me that copy of the software is already running. I think if anything I might just give up and in the task manager it does show very quickly before disappearing form the processes lists and I didn't touch anything like end task?
Oh and this is what I get when it does open the options give me no options.

Well mates I am now trying the Ventoy software but not holding my breath it just seems so convoluted procedure.

Still no luck in downloading the Medicat software after watching so many YouTube videos and google searched - I know it is slow but I cannot find anywhere giving just what I should do, I have created a Ventoy USB stick with Medicat installer on it but am now stumped at why I cannot get the main software. As it is I am trying this out on my older laptop because the Windows security has to be disabled - so any thoughts really appreciated.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Thanks Bree now I have tried all sorts of ways to get this to download but am just not getting anywhere except that I have the installer on a USB stick programmed with Ventoy as my Rufus software has gone walkabout. Any way thanks for the link it is one of the ones I got when searching for this elusive software.:(
