Note that the update contains several known issues. Also, you might experience some bugs not caused by NVIDIA drivers:

• [Halo Infinite] Significant performance drop is observed on Maxwell-based GPUs.
• [DaVinci Resolve] This driver implements a fix for creative application stability issues
  seen during heavy memory usage. We’ve observed some situations where this fix has
  resulted in performance degradation when running DaVinci Resolve. This will be
  addressed in an upcoming driver release. [4172676]

Issues Not Caused By Nvidia Drivers:

• Under Windows 10, clone mode across graphics processors is handled by the Windows OS, and not by the NVIDIA driver. Consequently, there are no controls for cross-adapter clone mode in the NVIDIA Control Panel under Windows 10. Functionality of some display controls in the NVIDIA Control Panel may be affected if
  cross- adapter clone mode is enabled through the Windows Control Panel. In this case, use the Windows Control Panel to adjust display settings.
• Because cross-adapter clone mode is handled by the Windows 10 OS, there are no display controls in the NVIDIA Control Panel if no display is connected to the NVIDIA GPU on Optimus notebooks.
• [Windows 10 Fall Creators Update][HDTV]: 12 bpc is automatically applied even on HDTVs that support only 8 bpc, resulting in a scrambled display.
  To work around, open the NVIDIA Control Panel -> Change Resolution page, select “Use NVIDIA color settings,” then set the Output color depth to 8 bpc.
• Some games and applications are designed to run at a fixed frame rate, and consequently do not take advantage of NVIDIA G-Sync. To prevent issues, G-Sync may be disabled for those applications.

I wanted to ask a question about this clean install, is it just to save space, or does it have an impact on performance?

Not sure about that one, as I've never used it. I instead use Tech Power Up's NVCleanStall utility to make my own clean builds.

It does save some resources, as you can remove stuff you don't need (PhysX and HD Audio for me), plus it has lots of advanced options - including IRQ assignment routine, removing Ansel, and advertising, and a whole load of other things.

The great part about the utility is that you don't even need to install it - it works perfectly fine as a portable utility, can download the current driver as needed, allows you to build the custom driver into a full package that you can install on multiple machines, and a whole lot more. And, even in portable mode, it keeps the settings you used previously saved so that the next time you need to build a new package, there is a button at the bottom of the advanced settings screen that allows you to use the previous settings automatically.

Everything removed out of the driver package except for:

• Core Driver files
• PhysX
• HD Audio
• Key RTX features (present only in Clean Driver RTX packages)

No Impact that I can tell. I still only install the Core Drivers and PhysX.
One of the biggest issues I find is having GeForce Experience installed which I never do.

I am sure there are people who find it useful. But for me, I think it’s just bloatware with no redeeming qualities or purposeful use.

I don't bother with the bloatware, "GeForce Experience" either.
my install/update to v537.42 went fine...
World of Warcraft wrath-classic running fine..

it makes it easier for my lazy ass to download drivers lol! But otherwise yeah, Id just stick to control panel.

I can relate to the lazy aspect. But I’d have to click too many things to get to that secion.
