Remove Weather From Homescreen In Edge.

You are missing the Show weather On/Off toggle in the custom page options.
Therefore:
1. Microsoft Edge > Repair.
2. Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime > Repair.
3. Weather App > Repair/Reset/Re-install/update.

There is obvious common graphics in the Weather App hence doing 3.

I assume no system mods.

Hi glasskuter. Edge is the same version. It opens in a new tab, however the show weather toggle is missing despite an Edge repair. We did an Edge repair, Settings/Apps/Edge/Modify/Repair. We don't have the Weather App installed- not listed in Apps but as Helmut suggested we will try an Edge WebView2 repair . I assume it's listed in Apps. For Edwin - Aye, it's shaping up that way ;-)

Thank you Helmut. Your suggestions have solved this problem for us. Although we did an Edge repair previously, we didn't do a repair to the Edge Webview2 Runtime app - didn't know what it was for. We did the repairs and the toggle to turn off weather has now appeared. Thanks very much to you and everyone else who took the time to reply. Much appreciated. Mitch.

Damn it. It showed back up yesterday without the option to shut it off. Ran through the repair options this time and it still doesn't show the option to shut off.

Same thing here. I also did the repairs to the Edge and Edge WebView2 Runtime apps and still no Turn Off weather toggle. I'm almost sure the weather wasn't showing yesterday before installing the Cumulative Update for March - this is a Windows 10 laptop. I can only assume that the update has reactivated this annoyance and for some reason the repairs don't work.

Seems to be catching. The first time is was just one Windows 10 pc,now all of our 4 machines, 2 Windows 10 and 2 Windows 11 have this weather thing with no off toggle. All set to open to a New Tab. It must be something in the March Cumulative Updates as wasn't there beforehand. The latest Edge update didn't change anything.

Hi, If we use a URL eg microsoft.com, Edge opens without the weather showing, but is difficult to search from there.
Give msn.com a try. I have my browsers set to open three web pages, Eleven Forums, Twelve Forums and MSN.com.

Hi @Winuser . Had a look at MSN. Still shows weather at the top. I assume since this has happened to all 4 PC's this is intentional since the last cumulative update. The latest Edge update hasn't changed the setting. Edge is set to open a new tab and I assume it's getting the location from our IP Address. Mitch.

I don't get the weather when I'm on the MSN page. Is this the page you were looking at? MSN

Hi @Winuser. Thanks for replying. Yes, this is the page. The weather shows in the top left corner. When you click on it, it shows the location. Maybe this is a region thing. I'm in the Uk so maybe it's different in the US? As Fabler2 said before, it's more of a security concern and shouldn't be displayed unless agreed to. Thanks again. Mitch.

This is what I see. The only mention of weather is in the circle I made. If yours looks different then it must be regional.

Checked it again and it shows my location to within 3 or 4 miles. Must be regional. I'm also wondering if the removal of the weather toggle is regional too. Really shouldn't be. We have Firefox installed so we'll just park Edge and see if the toggle reappears. Thanks again for your help.

Just checked the Microsoft Community Forum and apparently the removal of the "Show Weather" toggle is intentional and not a regional thing.
Seems like we are stuck with it.

There's no 'Show Weather' toggle on my 'Page settings' either .
Also the location is not very accurate : it shows the weather for Amsterdam , about 250km from where I live !

And layout at the top of a new tab is confusing , it depends on the width of the window .
Here are 12(!) different layouts , from the smallest to the largest window (differences are marked with a red rectangle) :

Hi all. Yes just checked and it has returned. @number40Fan said there was a delay in when the weather toggle was removed and when it returned. Hopefully the next Edge/Windows update won't remove it again.

Yes , the 'Show weather' toggle is back .
And the layout at the top of a new tab looks like it used to look .
