Hi there,

I need your expertise regarding how to edit, enhance, mute and add music, on a small 2.2 mins video file.

You could try Windows 11 Clipchamp. I haven’t opened it yet to take a look but apparently it can do what you have asked. Did it come with your install?

Clipify seems good but I don't have the pro version...

I am not sure if I Clipchamp came with Windows 11 or my MS Office Pro 2021. Because it’s a small job, you could see if Windows Movie Maker is available. I’m not on my PC currently to give great detail, sorry. But I will be soon.

Openshot is free. I’ve used it once a long time ago, impressive. Open Source.

The only thing I've used is Classic Windows Movie Maker, free but hard to get...,
or, Camtasia Studio, really expensive!

There are lots of things that call themselves 'Movie Maker'. The one being suggested here is Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker, the last version was part of the free Windows Essentials 2012.

As Edwin says, it's difficult to find the offline installer now that MS have removed it from their servers. But it can still install and run in Windows 11.

Classic Movie Maker was part of Windows Essentials, which Microsoft no longer offers. It's still possible to find download sites, including one at Wayback Machine.

For the relatively basic video editing I do, the old Movie Maker is great--I know how to use it and it does what I want. But when I try to install it on my Win11 machine (running version 23H2), the install aborts with a message that it can't install for unknown reasons. Has always-customer-centric MS put something in Win11 to block installation?

The online installer I used is named wlsetup.exe. If there's a chance your offline installer would work better, I'd love to try it.

Whatever you do, DON"T BUY !! There's s-o-o-o-o much freeware around.

Also, s-o-o-o-o much of the paid stuff is simply the freeware version with a different GUI, and quite often containing built-in settings that don't allow the user to do the job they want to do.

EDIT And if you're learning, do it on A COPY of the original.

I did a fresh installation of windows 11 pro. Clipchamp was installed. I us Clipchamp to reduce the size of video file.

The download link I used (and have just tested again today) was the archived copy of the Microsoft web page that offered the link to download the offline installer at the bottom of the page. This one is 130MB.
