Win11 Auto-Decreasing Mic Input Volume

Hello all,

Windows 11 has been automatically decreasing my mic input volume on it's own, at seemingly random times, multiple times a day.
Exclusive mode is turned off, Windows 11 is fully updated and there are no options for enhancements. I tried using different mic drivers as well, but the issue persists.

I know it is Windows, because when I go into the mic sound settings and move the mic input volume down and back up, the mic acts as normal again, until the next time it happens. Also, the mic input volume does not change visually when this is happening. It either acts as if it were muted, or will only pick up input if I were to yell directly into the mic.

I can't seem to find a solution.
Anyone know why this is happening?

Thank you.

I would go to Device Manager and uninstall the sound device and tick the box to also uninstall the driver. Then reboot or scan for hardware changes under 'action' in DM

So I did this, but I did not have an option to attempt to remove the driver for this device, only to uninstall.
After scanning for hardware changes, I now have two different drivers installed, as shown in the picture.
They seem to be identical.

Uninstalling one, uninstalls them both from the device manager, but one still shows in Windows Settings.

Disregard the double drivers. A reboot fixed that.
However, the volume issue still persists.

If you don't delete the driver software by ticking that box, Windows will just reinstall the same driver. When you delete the driver, Windows will search for the most appropriate driver, either on your machine or via Windows update.

Understood. Though, I do not know how to find and delete the driver, when the option to delete it in the device manager is nonexistent.
Do you know how I can find it to manually delete it? Google led me to the Windows driver folder, but I couldn't figure out the name of the driver I was supposed to delete.

Hi,
Yeah some if not all of the voice enhancements are counter productive for sure on the microphones volume.

What is DD.exe? What voice enhancements are you talking about?
The problem is I cannot find the culprit and I cannot uninstall drivers the way other people seem to be able to.

Hi,
I'm on my laptop I to had some issues with mic volume
Acer app in my case cured it
So you need the sound app from your manufacture to do this.
View attachment 80768

I use an AudioTechnica (AT2020) mic that did not come with my pc.
It does not have any drivers available on their website and it does not use any sound apps.
My pc also did not come with a sound app installed.

Hi,
Yeah this is a LG tv mic ?
If so you'll have to look in it's settings for sound enhancements seems it's kicking the volume down maybe.

No.
Again, it is an Audio-Technica mic. (AT2020).
I bought it from Amazon. It does not have it's own driver or software.
