Then get the driver from your motherboard maker.. run it.. it's going to uninstall and install the driver and try that again. It's acted weird for me as well.

Won't work. This started happening like a week ago. Everything was fine back then.

Assuming "rtkhdad" stands for RealTeK HD Audio Driver, I believe its natural its there. Or should I delete it?

Open it and post what's inside
I wouldn't delete it it's just not installing properly for some reason.
Might need some of the stuff done the 10 forums shows to do.

It's all folders like this as is the case with every driver-related folder.

Did you upgrade or clean install 11 ?

All mine were upgrades but I never did install the realtek driver on 10

Clean install. Between Windows 10 and 11, I installed 2 Linux distros (Mint and Ubuntu). Then I formatted everything and repartitioned the drives.

This problem did NOT emerge until last week. Coming to think of it, I believe first time it was after Windows 11 kept pushing me to restart for update install.

YES! That was the first time it happened! After a Windows 11 update.

I rarely turn my laptop off, almost always on Sleep mode so I'm not exactly sure it was immediately RIGHT after the download of update.

I ignore the notification a lot and it was after a few days that I noticed Windows 11 is killing me with all those notifications.

I did NOT necessarily consider the first time I noticed my audio driver was missing a PROBLEM. I thought it was my own mess-up.

So I looked for solutions only and after 5 hours of search, I downloaded those two Intel links which fixed the problem.

It was after a day or two when the audio driver went missing and I fixed it again. Over the past week, the period between losses has been getting shorter and shorter. Now it's several times a day.

Windows Update could have been from a month ago but I didn't restart the computer right afterwards.

And you could be right, this might have nothing to do with Windows update in which case I am clueless.

Only reason you can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 It's because Windows 10 drivers are supported by Windows 11.

I agree about people generalizing generalizing at times.

Anyway, for me, I did clean install of Windows 11 on my system with a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Xtreme motherboard and was able to successfully install and use "Windows 10" drivers, Including these Realtek 6.0.9075.1 Windows 10 drivers.

Was also able to do the same with other drivers to include the network drivers used for Windows 10. So like anything else, it depends.

As for the OP's issue... they should be able to use those drivers from Lenovo without issue. I have a 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X1 running a beta copy of Windows 11, but my soundcard is using Conexant driver dated 8/22/2021 - the date certainly makes it appear to be a "Windows 10 driver.

At any rate if the driver keeps getting booted (which is odd) chances are it isn't compatible... something you already know.

Personally the so called "new realtek driver" is crap or at least z490's is and will not install as the one on my x299 system did earlier

I like the old one version because it's in the action center ez to open...
This new one just stays in all apps and I guess you need to just make a shortcut to it or fart around start/ apps nasty area to open it which personally I avoid the start area if possible.

But yes this is win-11 driver dictator at it's finest

Similar to mine or not, audio seems to be a major problem among Windows 10/11 users.

Can we report this issue to Microsoft so that they can investigate it?

There are probably a lot of other users complaining from Windows 11 audio issues.

I remember Windows 10 had a weird problem something about taskbar not responding and Windows 10 asking you to log out so that it can auto-fix it and this would go on forever.

It's not uninstalling like yours
There is only two win-10 realtek drivers for z490 apex
Newest will install just won't show up in action center as it does on x299 apex system
Version looks is completely different x299 version is way better.

The older one for z490 seems to install but doesn't show up on start/ all apps only shows up in all apps features with uninstall and no modify option
It was already there after the upgrade install from 10 in the same condition I frankly never install it on 10 so ms must of installed it
Heck the version are two months apart lol just like asus

I don't have any audio issues, and especially with my Realtek drivers. That ;s desktop. My Windows 11 laptop using the Conexant audio drivers also has no issues there. But that's my systems.

You can always provide feedback via the Feedback hub - Settings > System > About; Scroll down to the "Give feedback" link. Post your issue.
