I’m not sure what AIDA adds (that’s useful) to using CPU-Z, HWiNFO, and Crystal Disk Info. Can you enlighten me?

AIDA64 monitors... everything. It also gives you more specs about your hardware, than anything. It allows you to monitor your computer, from your phone.

For any old schoolers out there... AIDA64 used to be Lavalys Everest.

If you have an issue with AIDA64 on your comp... post in their forums and the "main guy" will code you a fix.

The OSD is just that... an On Screen Display, that can be resized, have the colors and font changed. It can be dragged anywhere and can be set to "on top" or not. There's also a "Sensor Panel" for the System Tray, which like the OSD can monitor... anything... if that floats your boat.

Install directory is 100MB and it's using only 8.6MB of RAM.

Here's just the things it will monitor. List is slightly different for different computers...

@Wisewiz my Motherboard in "System One" under "My Computers" came bundled with a full version of AIDA64 with a 3 year expiry and I managed to download the latest Installed/Portable versions then transferred the saved license file from the original OEM installed version to the newest version so I could get the latest updates. The Home version of the software can be used on 3 PC's and is a pretty good deal if you want to maintain Maintenance.

My opinion on AIDA64 | Yes, it's a fantastic program for displaying your hardware information. But the thing is, it's not the type of program that you're gonna use very often. Most of the time, it's never gonna be opened. It's gonna sit there costing you money.

It's a similar situation with partition managers like MiniTool Partition Wizard (for example). It's a great partition manager, but how often do you use it?

AIDA64 Extreme is the most comprehensive program of its class, IMHO. I don't use it often, as was mentioned by @Stigg, but I would not be without it. What rocks your boat is a personal choice.

I fail to see the similarity, @Stigg. Yes, I seldom use my FREE copy of MTPW, and it just sits there when I'm not using it, but it doesn't cost me anything except a small amount of disk space, and when I need it, it's really great having it there, waiting.

Maybe my situation is unusual, but I don't think so. I have about forty programs on my PCs, and of those, I probably use at most ten in a week. Browsers, mail, and a few utilities and word handlers. Would I give up the ones I don't regularly use? Not on yer life.
