Alternative email address

Google account asks for an alterntive email address.
I use Gmail have just installed Thunderbird.
Can I use 'myname@thunderbird.com' as an alternative email address?
If not, has anyone any suggestions.

No, that is not a valid email address. Create another email address with another provider eg Outlook, your isp, any free email service or even a second email address with gmail. Having an alternate email on file is just giving you a second method other than your phone number if your gmail account ever has to be recovered.

Even AT&T has free email accounts (Yahoo).

I have New Outlook installed without Microsoft 365. Is 'myname@outlook.com' a valid email address?
Can I just ignore Googles request for an alternate email address (they have my mobile phone number)?
One of ElevenForum members infers that New Outlook is useless as a stand alone product and is best uninstalled.

Yes, that is a valid email address. You do NOT have to set up the outlook app on your computer with the email address if you do not want to. Many people use outook on the web.
