Are you talking about being unable to find a free version for Windows 11?
It's not that I am unable, I could use google; I guess I am looking for a recommendation.
I would recommended simply using windows defender, with malwarebytes free alongside to do a manual scan every now and then.
I provided the link? It is free. I just did it in a VM. I am sorry but you are wrong. It has a 14 day trial for premium features but you can choose to skip and then revert to free
There is no free version that I see on that page you provided. As for the rest of your post - are you saying that if you install the premium version, you get to keep using it for free, without some features?
Yes, I think the version you get from the page Andrew linked above is a Premium Version Trial, and after the trial ends, you will be automatically set to the Free version, which works just as well as the paid version in every way EXCEPT that it's an on-demand scanner program only, not a resident, background, all-day protection program. Many, many people use it once a day or once a week (or ...) to check that MS Defender hasn't let anything through. If you go that route, you'll have to click Check for Updates frequently, as well, because it won't auto-update with all the latest definition files. It'll put an icon in your tray that makes checking for updates really easy. I used it this way for years and years, before I decided to get a license for each of my office PCs.
