Can a Samba share have a dedicated password ?

Hi, I have created a share on my Windows 11. To connect to it from another device on the network, I have to provide my Windows login/password (OneDrive) to access it.
I do not like the fact that I have to enter my Windows login/password (OneDrive) to access it. I find this quite risky to have to enter such password.
As suggested in the screenshot below, is there a way to set a password dedicated to my SMB share?
This way I do not have to enter my Windows login/password (OneDrive) to access it. Or the only way is too create a new user to Windows ?

I had already read this article to achieve what I have done. But this article is considering that you want to log on with your Windows login/password (OneDrive) to access to your Samba sharing. I do NOT want to use my Windows login/password (OneDrive) to access my Samba sharing.

Search for Credential in your Start Menu.
Credential Manager will come up.
Select windows credentials (right side)
Add a windows credential:
<sambashare>/<UserName>

You can use this for terminal services as well (for remote desktop) Use TERMSRV/<UserName>

If you want to access it with another password, then you could set up a new local account on your Windows 11 PC, then set that account to have full control in the share permissions, and the NTFS permissions for that folder. You would then need to connect to it with network credential for this local account and its password, not your own MS account password.

I understand that I cannot assign a password just to a Samba share.
So to get a different login/password for my Samba share, I need to add a new account.
Is is possible create a new account within the Windows 11 new settings ? I have tried but why am I asked to enter an email/phone (I do not need this for my account just used to access to my Samba share)


If I am not wrong, this is the equivalent screen in the old interface, there is no email/phone asked

An email is required if you are setting up a Microsoft account. Click on 'I don't have this person's sign-in information', then click 'Add a user without a Microsoft account' and you can set up a Local account with just a name and password.
