Having this weird problem where the first time I try to do *anything* requiring the internet it says `no connection`, but when I try again it works...

Win 11
I really am not sure what this issue is. I suspect it's something specific to Win 11 because when I did a fresh Win 11 install that is exactly when it started. I am connected to the internet. It's *not* that the computer just came out of sleep and needs to connect because it happens even when I've been using the computer for a while. It happens with websites in Waterfox, but it also happens in apps that do things that require the internet. It's really odd. I thought it might have had something to do with Application Guard, but I uninstalled that it and it still happens.

At this point I'm just looking for any new ideas of where to look to trouble shoot this because it's real annoying and I'm seriously going to end up reinstalling if I can figure it out. Honestly, I might just do that this afternoon if this post doesn't generate anything helpful. I have some other questions about Win 11, but I will make those in other threads.

Thank you! Appreciate your time. Really liking Win 11 so far, except for the same few things I find many are complaining about.

Ok.. are you using WiFi? If so you may have issues with the driver for your WiFi.. Since 11 is new it's possible that the drivers for your WiFi are not up to working with 11 and going back to 10 may be the solution.

One more thing you can do is restart you modem.. that might clear up the issues. Are you using a VPN? That also could be part of your issues.

Hi,
If you roll back or still have 10 see if this helps
Othwise find and reinstall your wifi driver.

Hi there
If you install W11 and find some devices are marked as unknown device etc currently by far the simplest method until W11 drivers are available is simply to do the following

Ensure you copy the latest W10 system drivers that work on your machine by just copying (and its subfolders) the contents of windows\system32\DriverStore to a folder that is acessible to W11 system.

Then in device manager just go down all the devices that have problems against them one by one and select update driver -> use this pc and point to the folder you set the driver store to. Simple, easy no 3rd party stuff or messing around with what inf files etc to copy.

For drivers that still don't work --hardware is much too new so just wait -- the actual hardware details can be got from the event manager with the Vendor info which you can then google for.

Pretty well all W10 drivers currently seem to work - at least on the non preview release builds.

Cheers
