just loving the free 180 day Free trial of 2022 LTS Windows Server -- restored my faith agian in Windows -- everything runs as it should and nothing's been broken --I've hobbled it a bit to run as a desktop OS on a laptop --beats Win 11 pro hands down !!!
Love "Misusing" servers !!!!
Why not try it --it's free and with /slmgr -rearm you can extend at least 5 X 180 days - plus you can learn and play with servers --usually expensive to do if on official courses etc,
Pertomace is zillions times better than W11 - no bloat and the interface is a hybrid W10/W11 mix - taking the best of both. The only program that won't work without a new license is Macrium Free (wants the server edition) -- the rest of my stuff including Office LTSC 2021 just works normally - and since this system is on a vhdx file - no probs backing it up -- and Macrium bootable stand alone works too.
I know in theory one could make W11 also as good by removing loads of stuff etc -- but I've never been successful at that - The server works well straight OOTB. I had to do a few thngs to get it to function as a workstation e.g enable wifi, sound, remove nag prompts when rebooting, changing admin ownership name to standard user name etc but nothing complex.
