OS
Win 11
Can anyone tell me what this is about. I found this after trying to launch a game from steam and it never launched, went to black screen with a swirly blue thing, then a white screen with the swirly blue thing, then win11 said the program will shutdown. One occasion it self rebooted. This is just one game I hadn't tried any others yet. This is getting tiresome. I never had this many issues with Win 10.

First check health of the hard drive.

And execute Chkdsk command from command prompt.

Use CrystalDiskInfo to check SMART health report of the hard disk drive (HDD).

Open the Command Prompt with administrative privileges and execute bellow commands one at a time.

Code:
Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Sfc /scannow

Chkdsk C: /r

If you use a 4k screen and the GUI of HDDScan is too small for you to be able to properly read it, then you can Change the scaling by going to the Compatibility tab of this specific app's Properties window panel:
So, in the 2nd screenshot of the tutorial linked above, under the High DPI scaling override section, enable the “Override high DPI scaling behavior” checkbox. In the drop-down, choose Application. Hit on OK and that's it.

I ran samsung magician to see if that found anything and the SSDs are fine. After reading this,
  • Too many drives with a high load are on the same storage controller. Therefore the drives need to be split among different controllers.
I considered the fact that I have 2 SATA drives hooked up, so I just unhooked the most recent one I received and so far, the drive that was getting the errors seems to be okay. The thing that confuses and annoys me, is there is no point in time when both drives would ever be working at the same time. D drive is only games and some arbitrary programs and the E: drive is movies. I would never have to access both at the same time, so I don't fully understand how one would affect the other.

The MB is a Gigabyte B650i and it has a strange design to how the sata connectors are placed. Quite honestly I don't know if there is a work around unless I can claim an RMA from gigabyte.

Depending on the motherboard, some of the SATA ports may share PCIe bandwidth with other components/ports of various types that can also be one or more SATA ports, but can also be other types of ports and/or components. The user manual of the motherboard should give you detailed info about these kinds of hardware limitations, if they are applicable.

EDIT: Also note, a faulting HDD hooked up to the same SATA controller as the SSD can interfere with the SSD's operations/activities in such a way that the SSD appears to be in good working order upon inspecting the health status of the SSD, but still causes sporadic-erratic behaviors like this.
