Sharing USB attached printer and Credential Manager

Simple requirement: Have USB attached Canon Laser printer on my desktop machine, want to be able to print to it from other PCs in the home. Other desktop is a Win 11 machine connected to same WIFI network. Can share files with no problem. File and printer sharing turned on in both machines. Credential manager disabled in both PCs on advice from a Youtube video. I attempt to add the shared printer on the second PC, enter the name as \\PCName\\Printer Name and hit NEXT. Windows Printer Installation box pops up saying "Connecting to Canon Laser on pcname". Followed by popup box titled "Connect to pcname", prompting for user name and password. I enter valid username and password for the desktop with the printer, hit OK.

Several seconds pass and then an error message box appears: "The credential supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials. Overwriting the existing set of credentials may cause some running applications to stop function properly. Do you really want to overwrite the existing set of credentials?". I reply yes. New error message: "The credentials supplied are not sufficient to access this printer. Do you want to specify new credentials?". Tried yes and no path with no results.

Using credential manager in both machines, I erased all credentials and as mentioned before Credential manager has been disabled in both systems and then both restarted. So, I'm at a loss as to how to get around this. Any ideas?

OK - problem resolved thanks to glassKuter. Seems to me that very few understand how the credential stuff works and I find it totally illogical. The only solution offered at the link glassKuter gave that worked was the one by Don Baker dated April 6, 2023 and it's one of the simplest. It involved adding a credential to the machine with the printer AND creating an identical credential on the Win 11 machine wishing to connect to the printer. This makes no sense, of course, as the info you are putting in the credential is exactly the same as I used when trying to connect with the printer from the client machine. If that "credential" works, then why doesn't logging in with the very same info work?? I always like to learn something from resolving one of these problems, but I'm afraid I didn't here. If you have this same problem, ignore all the advice on Youtube videos and elsewhere and go to the link given above and read Don Baker's solution.
