Solved System Restore - show all restore points

Is there a way to "show more restore points" be the default rather than clicking it? As it is, only 2 points show and I have at least one more. Thank you.

I'm not sure what you're seeing, or why my views are different, and I don't think it's just a matter of the difference between your older version and my current version (22631.2861). I get these two views when I open System Restore:

POLYSIUS, Pamela might not know how to write/create a batch file. I am not to good at it either. Could you code it in a code box?

No you don't.

All you get is a list of the Shadow copies. You have no way to select any of them as a Restore point, and it does NOT enable Show more restore points, so it does NOT address Pamela's question at all.

In addition:

You could make a batch to launch system restore, select next and then select the option to show more restore points.. would be a visible process but automated

I think my point, and I failed to make it, was that there IS NO "'show more restore points' option (lower left of that windows)" any more. The second page of System Restore (my right-hand shot) shows ALL available points, and I think it gets a scrollbar when the eleven spaces there are filled. I haven't seen "Show more" in a while, but that may be just because I always whittle my collection of RPs down to the last three or four. CCleaner's Tools > System Restore lists all availables and offers to delete any or all except the latest.

Show more restore points will only appear if you have reserved sufficient disk space to store them and if you have not deleted previous restore points.

For me, when I select Choose a different restore point, it displays 3 restore points, but if I click on Show more restore points it shows 9 restore points.

I am guessing there is a registry entry that you can add or modify to enable the Show more restore points option, but I have no idea where it would be located and Google turns up nothing useful so far ... lol

current usage: 5.76 GB
Max usage: 7% (15.39 GB)
My C drive total size is 219 GB, space free is 133 GB
I don't understand why there is a difference in percentages between current and max usage but, then again, I don't understand a whole lot

Current usage shows how much disk space your restore points are currently using.
Max usage shows the maximum amount of disk space that can be used by your restore points.

The more you increase the Max usage value, the more restore points you are able to save.

If all restore points are listed by default you can't enable/show more restore points!
Do not just read that! You have to understand it and find out what it means!

I can still remember back when System Restore showed all restore points by default.

I scratched my head in bewilderment when they implemented the functionality to only show some restore points and you were required to click on the "Show More Restore Points" box.

You might want to have a look at Shadow Explorer. It is a great little program for listing VSS shadow copies. I have been using it for years.
