Solved Upgrading from win 10 pro to Win 11

Windows 11 Pro version 22H2 build 22621.3155
I clicked on the download and install Win 11 in Win 10 updates and it started downloading and it's been over an hour and it has been at "downloading 8%" is this normal in the upgrade to Win 11

b) firewall software

Thanks but once aging before I got this replay I decided to reboot and try the update again and it is going well it's at 100% now

Thanks for the replies. After I rebooted my system and starting the upgrade again it started downloading which was only about 5 minutes and then it installed and now I have Windows 11

My first issue with Windows 11 is it won't let me chose the background for my desktop that I want. When I browse to find an image the image I use is not showing up even though I have checked the folder and it is in there. Win 11 just can't see it???

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

That's odd. If you can see it in File Explorer, have you tried right-clicking on it and selecting 'Set as desktop background'?

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. I can right click any .bmp .png or .jpg and choose set as desktop background and it works also.
But I also changed my right click context menu to the Windows 10 version.
