Hi folks
To look at the difference between editions I created W11 pro, W11 Enterprise, W11 Education and W11 pro for workstations. All same domain / workgroup etc. Created on vhdx files so choice of which system to boot --OK. Each one booted without a trouble not concurrently of course - these aren't VM's. Plenty of space on a 2 TB SSD (NVME) device to do this. Install fast and simple via dism /apply-image. 4 images in the install.wim file 1-pro, 2-enterprise, 3-education 4-workstations. Made each windows install disk 60GB.
All of them except W11 Pro could show me other computers in the network. W11 Pro refused to have anything to do with it - you had to enter an IP address. Nothing I could do changed the behaviour. -- All editions on latest insider canary build. Whether the fact that only W11 Pro was activated made any difference to this test or not I haven't a clue but that's the only significant difference between the editions after basic install that I can see (although I believe W11 Enterprise and W11 for workstations supports more RAM and more than 2 physical processors.
Tried re-installing W11 pro again same problem.
Never mind about economists giving alchemy a good name -- I think the same must apply to Windows networking. too.
W11 DEV and W11 beta maps network OK BTW. Just seems an issue on my machine with Canary.
Cheers
