No... just the computer related to this topic. :-)
There's slots for two sets of computer specs. Most people fill in the specs for the two computers they use most often.

hi
have you tried to diable for example superprefecht ,with the new ssd it's a non sense with cmd as administrator ?
Code:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
it should re-enable and polulate the windows c:\Windows\Prefetch\ of files
weird , seems to have an beta tester operation system , and the application bar is too huge for a laptop :(
thanks

No, I haven't. But try one of these methods...

SFC and DISM are supposed to "restore" Windows files to their normal state.
This could be why they are turning things back on.

I run Bitdefender AV/firewall (paid), and it sort of "took over" Windows Defender.
When I run SFC or DISM... that state isn't changed. Windows Defender, stays, taken over.

I understand your issue, but I just don't see it happening on my computer.
I have superfetch (SysMain in Services), set to automatic and "running".
And SFC or DISM don't seem to bother my Windows Defender which is mostly OFF.

I see the same on Win 10 and Win 11.

I just disabled SysMain in Services and stopped it from running.
Now I'm running SFC and DISM... Restore Health.
We'll see what happens. :-)

Ok... neither one turned the SysMain service, back on. I'm gonna reboot also and see if that turns it on.
SysMain (superfetch) [in Services], is still disabled after reboot.

My Prefetch folder is full of stuff, but it's all tiny things... mostly < 30KB each

I don't think it matters, but I have Hibernate and System Restore... disabled.
I also checked Winaero Tweaker... I don't see anything related to Prefetch or superfetch in there.

Yeah, especially with SSDs, I think prefetch does sfa these days.

I leave it on and forget about it. To me its kind of like in the class "If it aint broke, use CoPilot to get advice on how to really break it." territory.
