Not able to launch Windows Notepad anymore. Get error about app not being provisioned.
Read up on the error and ran both DISM with RestoreHealth and SFC scannow -- both completed without issue, but no change.
Went to the MS Store to download Notepad and while that worked, the installation failed with the error code noted.
So I ran CHKDSK on all the volumes -- and no errors were found.
I downloaded and installed "Notepads" from the MS Store to see if this was a generic installer or MS Store error -- it was not as that installed and runs OK.
I ran into this same error on my primary Win11 desktop but running DISM and sfc fixed the issue.
I selected another app (LibreOffice) to open text files, and it works OK -- so it's not an issue with the text files.
I tried to search here for a way to restore the MS Store, but did not find a thread about it, nor did I find a tutorial -- but I could have missed it.
I started to have these issues only in the last few days and the only recent Windows Update installed was KB4023057 -- on Dec 1st.
Windows wants to install KB5032288 -- but I am holding off on that as it corrupted my primary desktop when it installed.
UPDATE: Did more reading ... did a store reset (using wreset) and cleaned out the cache. When I restart the MS Store, it shows Notepad and when I click Open, it works. But when I attempt to open a file by selecting Notepad from the list of apps, I still get the provision error.
