After restart how to know if crashed or planned
Hello folks,
I was wondering if there is a secure way to know: If you noticed that your computer has restarted, if it has crashed for some reason or it made a planned restart like it does sometimes for updating....
Thanks in advance.

Hello
@ricardobohner and welcome to ElevenForum.
If you know "when" it restarted you can look at what happened at the same time... in
Event Viewer, in Settings.
Another way to see things that happened is to type:
Reliability History in the Taskbar search box.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Easily retrieve the event logs of shutdown events on a Windows device remotely by executing a custom script via Hexnode’s Execute Custom Script action.
www.hexnode.com
Hi,
I haven't had any crashes to see how this might work after one, or what happens when the system hard crashes without info.
EDIT:
Looking in the event viewer System log, for a crash, I found the critical eventID 41 "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
So if you modify the script above to look for those, they should positively tell you whether a crash occurred. Or you could do it interactivly creating a Event viewer filter to look for that event ID
Cheers

Turns off= Usually too low of battery, (if a laptop) or CPU maximum temp was at a critical limit.
For a stop error, look for a "BugCheck" event in the event log.
