Solved App default to change

I use Photoshop Elements 2018 - this is software rather than an app. I do not want it to open my photos by default. I tried making another photo editor "Photos" ph.jpg the default application but photos still go to PSE -I have gone into the apps menu but the only option for PSE is uninstall.

Settings>apps>default apps.scroll to bottom>select 'choose defaults by file type'
Find .jpg in the list , select it. Then select an app from the subsequent list to open .jpg files.
Find .jpeg in the list and do the same thing.
Do the same for any other photo file types that you work with.

Ok - went through that loooooong list to jpeg - Microsoft photo app listed - selected it - worked!!!! Thanks so much.

You're welcome. Sorry, guess I should have mentioned that the file types are in alphabetical order.
