Audio problems

Hi,

I have the Dell XPS 9300 Laptop.

The Audio is stuck at 100% unless I mute volume. The slider is working fine and I can see the number decrease and increase but the volume never changes and stays at 100%. I've updated the realtek drivers and problem still exists.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

I have a few Dell Notebooks, latest is Win11 on a Vostro 3400 from Oct. 15 plus older Inspiron [one running Linux] and Latitude [one running Linux] and they all have a keyboard [hardware] control for Volume, the Fn + another F key for the hardware set before the OS set. Does yours?

Are you running an Insider version or the release version of Windows 11?

delete the driver and re-install it

LOL. I wasn't aware 12 was out yet. Seriously, I know what you mean.
Try opening a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Note the log at the end to see if it found any corruption in system files that it repaired. If it did restart, and see if your problem is resolved.

If sfc found corruption but was unable to repair the files, follow up with the command dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (note the spaces in this command)

If dism does not fix the problem, the only other thing I can suggest is a repair install Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial
