How do I make a desktop shortcut for HP Smart App?

I have been able to add it to my Taskbar. But I can’t access its properties.

I tried to access "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" but I couldn’t get in. I was unable to change the permissions. Either the instructions to change the permissions were wrong, or I made a mistake following the long complicated details.

I called HP Support. They tried to sell me a $999 security system. Lots of help they were!

Drag it from the Start Menu onto the Desktop.

I pinned it to the Start Menu. I was unable to drag it to the desktop.

Be sure to drag it with a left-click, Right-click dragging doesn't seem to work.

Left-click dragging drags but it doesn't end up on the desktop. It just vanishes.

When you drag it out, doesn't a 'Link' hovertip show up so you can drop it?

When I drag it, it moves and then when I'm over the desktop, a do not enter sign shows up.

If the drag n drop thing doesn't work, paste shell:appsfolder into a Run box, find the shortcut, right click it and choose Create Shortcut>on the Desktop.

Wow! shell:appsfolder shows the app in the list and allows me to create a desktop shortcut. Awesome! And now I can put it where I want.
