default File Explorer view

Hi,
My File Explorer lists my drives with the Volume name, a one line graph of how much it is filled, and and the text "xxx free of xxx".

I like that view of each drive, but every so often I get a text view or some other view. I can hold down the CTRL key and scroll the mouse either way and find my way back to the view I like, but it happens enough that it is annoying.

Is there a way to lock-in the view I like?

Search for Options in the taskbar search box. Click on File Explorer Options.

On the General tab, set Open File Explorer to: This PC ... Click Apply/OK etc.

Then File Explorer should always open to the view you want, unless you open File Explorer with another shortcut etc.

Thanks. That is the setting it already has.

If you go to File Explorer and on a blank space hold the CTRL key and scroll your mouse wheel, the view changes. I am OK with that, but I don't as a rule do that and sometimes the view changes by it's self, on it's own, without me doing anything.

I am wondering if there is a way for it to change on it's own, or lock it into a certain or current view?

The simple solution is to NOT hold the CTRL key down while scrolling ... lol ...

But, no, you are not able to lock in that view, if you did, then how would you navigate to any drives/folders/files you need to view?

The view will not change unless you tell it to and if it does change, click on This PC (top left) to get back to it.
