Does a SSD case that holds NVME drive to a SATA 3 port exist?

I have seen m.2 drives to sata adapters
Have not seen NVME to Sata adapters.

I was thinking I could buy an NVME, put it into an adapter and temporarily used it as a SATA drive in an old PC (connect to mb using sata cable)

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Too bad, wish I could use this kind of thing
But I then would need the angled adapter
And actually it is a PCIE x1 slot covered by the video card on my ASUS board
Other issue I dont know if the ASUS board would support this thing
It is an M4A88TD-M, I dont card about booting off it.

How would the speed of this compare to a SATA 3 interface?

NVMe and SATA are both protocols rather than interfaces and they are incompatible with each other. You won't find an adapter to make nvme into sata.

Here is a right angle pcie x1 extender, likely would fit
Total cost drops to $20
Really, I dont know if it would fit, just a guess. The fan lower frame on the video card is in the way, maybe it could be cut back

1709661940920.png

and a longer one, which might fit better, except the angle at the board is straight up

PCIe Gen 3 x 1 is going to provide 1GB/sec, while SATA III gives you 600MB/sec.

the board is pcie 2.0 so a x1 slot is 500MB/s about sata 3 speed of 600 MB/s

Anyhow I like projects, I might try the right angle cable and adapter and NVME drive for fun.
I can always use the NVME drive in something else

Since your GPU is a 1 slot card you might be able use This cable to reposition your GPU, potentially freeing up the covered PCI slot.

No, it has a pcie tuner card in the slot. I use it for WMC
I also have a PCI tuner card in the PCI slot
I was thinking the NVME bracket could be taken off that amazon card and figure out a support system in the case maybe... I need to look into the case and measure and see how much room there is/

I think that is going the opposite direction as intended. It sounded like poster wanted to buy an NVMe drive with hopes of using it in later future builds to get the speed advantage out of the NVMe, but he wants/needs to either plug it into a SATA port on the mobo or get a PCI-E Card that will accept the Nvme drive at the present time.
