Hey @MoKiChU !
Thank you for uploading this!
I'm not sure if this might fix my problem, but i just updated all of my drivers and BIOS yesterday after ~1 - 1.5 years of not doing that. I noticed that now my audio receiver (graphics card HDMI -> TV -> HDMI eARC -> audio receiver) can't be used with "DTS:X Ultra" anymore. The option is just not appearing anymore. DTS:X Headphones is visible, ultra is not. I've attached a screnshot of that. The problem did appear BEFORE i updated my graphics driver...

Is that problem caused by my driver update?
I have already googled for a few hours but can't seem to find any working solution for that...

Would your drivers fix that problem?
Since i am using a ROG STRIX Z690-F mainboard, which download would be best suited for me?
Thank you very much for your help and have a great week!

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

You're welcome, don't worry.

Yes it could fix your issue since your DTS Sound Unbound licence is contained in DTS APO4x Extension Driver.

Hi there, i have a rog strix B550-f Gaming (non wifi, so normal) motherboard, and i tried to download the drivers from the asus website at the motherboard page,
But how can i use my audio at full potential without the sonic applications and the nahmic service & A-VOLUTE (apparently its bad). (can you also explain if thats true and what nahmic and A-VOLUTE does?.
DTS is fine, since i already have it with my steelseries arctis pro wireless headset and the Steelseries GG app. (do i still need to delete DTS, since i have it with steelseries?)
So which drivers do i need?
This: [DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)
or this: [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40)
One is audio one is usb audio whats the difference?
thannks in advance!

the drivers from this thread (not realtek usb audio) - from 1st post
because the tech specs of your B550-F Gaming board (on the usa asus rog site) says the following:
ROG SupremeFX 7.1-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC S1220A

the global asus rog site is missing that specs info about audio for B550-F Gaming board

Hi there thanks i downloaded the drivers but can you confirm if the nahmic service and A-Volute is included? Because i can see them in the attached script but are those even needed or can i just delete it in the script? i can see myself that Sonic radar and Sonic Studio is optionally downloaded in the apps folder. i mostly use my steelseries arctis pro wireless headset and have a logitech stereo speakers connected to the lime green 3.5mm at the back of my motherboard. Thanks in advanceNotepad_W4hiJ9LQBH.png

To get rid of SS3 app/drivers :

1) Cleanup : Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process.

2) Install : Delete the A-Volute folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder then follow scrupulously your INSTALL process (without installing SS3/DTS apps, install RTK app only).

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process (always after having delete the A-Volute folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder).

Do you know if my audio quality will be worse or if something important will be missed? What exactly am i losing with this? (So what is avolute and Nahmic exactly, because i have only been warned about both and they interfere with some applications i use)? Thanks btw you have been very helpfull.

So you want to remove/not use something that you don't even know what it is just because you were told it was no good ? A tip (and not just for audio drivers, but in life in general), make up your own mind.

- Here is the SS3 minisite : ROG Audio Solution

- Here is a presentation video from ROG UK :

The thing you will lose if you get rid of SS3 app/drivers is the hardware audio processing performed by the SS3 APO (which avoids CPU resource hogging for audio processing) and the loss of your equalizer (it is by design, it's intended to work like this at least for ASUS products : If the third party app is built-in, the equalization is done via the third party app).

Also, since you have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, the configuration of the Upmix / Surround must be done via Sonic Studio III (SS3) and/or DTS Sound Unbound :

SS3 : Sonic Studio > Basic Mode :

Sonic Studio Effects : On
Upmix / Surround : Checked

DTS Sound Unbound : DTS Headphone:X > Enable DTS Headphone:X > Configure > Click on the 3 dots (...) and type the reference of your audio equipment :

- If you find your audio equipment select it.
- If you don't find your audio equipment :

If you use earphones : Choose the earphones icon
If you use headphone/headset : Choose the headset icon
If you use speakers : Choose the crossed headset icon

Notes :

- Do not go beyond 48000Hz 24Bits. If you go beyond 48000Hz 24Bits, DTS Sound Unbound will not work, and SS3 may generate crashes or lag spike with some apps/games.
- If you are not using headphones and you are using electrically powered speakers, the detected impedance is distorted and I recommend setting your amplifier to the lowest level (Realtek Audio Control > Playback Devices > Speakers > Amplify Level : Performance).

For my part since I have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard (so without DTS Sound Unbound), I additionally bought DTS Sound Unbound with the aim of using DTS Headphone:X spatialization when the games are compatible in addition to SS3 spatialization, and to use SS3 spatialization (Music global profile (untouched/default) + Upmix / Surround checked) for all other content including games that are not compatible with DTS Headphone:X spatialization.

How do you think i came here? I downloaded the asus motherboard drivers first and then i noticed issues with some applications (some of which said nahmic service is interfering within them).
So i tried to get rid of it, which was almost impossible since its so sneaky and downloads itself after restart eventhough i got rid of everything visibly. To my surprise many had the same problem and even a tool had to be made to remove ss3 and nahmic/avolute. If that doesnt aleady say everything i dont know what will.

I will test out having different settings/drivers to see which combination doesnt interfere. Thank you

Mea culpa in this case, I thought you wanted to get rid of it just because you were told it was no good.

So if you have noticed issues which the root cause is that A-Volute SS3 APO Drivers (of which Nahimic Service) interfering with some of your apps, first try to disable SS3 effects, if issues persists, uninstall SS3 app, if issues still persists, just follow this post : [DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx).

Hi everyone,

Armoury Crate was not detecting the installation of your audio drivers package, this is now fixed.

Redownload your audio drivers package then directly follow your UPDATE process.
