Solved I did a SFC/Scan and Got this

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

what is the next step I should take? or should I not worry?

You should keep going until SFC doesn't find anything.
If a 100% clean SFC won't happen, you should probably consider an In-Place Upgrade (repair install).
If even the In-Place Upgrade can't get you a 100% clean SFC, then it's probably a 3rd party program or driver that is causing the problem.

If you don't get a 100% clean SFC, then sooner or later, you will have problems.
On a fully working Windows, you should see...
SFC (maybe issues), DISM (successful), reboot, then SFC (100% clean).

An In-Place Upgrade "compares" what is installed on the computer, with the Windows ISO image.
Then, it overwrites any corrupted Windows files, with clean copies from the ISO image.
This is how it "repairs" Windows while allowing you to keep your programs and personal files.

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper Standard
Making a backup is optional, but always a smart move.
If you had a backup from before this problem occurred, you wouldn't be reading this. :-)

Get the Windows 11 ISO image (from the official tutorial (above), or from UUP Dump), and save it to your desktop...

UUP dump lets you download Unified Update Platform files, like Windows Insider updates, directly from Windows Update.

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.

Just remember.. the In-Place Upgrade can only fix "Windows" problems.
It won't fix driver or 3rd party programs if you choose to "Keep personal files and apps".

If you don't tell it to "Keep personal files and apps", it will just remove them.

These are the three choices you get in an In-Place Upgrade (from the tutorial)...

Just pick that version again.
The In-Place upgrade is more for "repairing" Windows than for upgrading it.

If the current version you're running is "really old", then it can be used to upgrade as well.
You can also use the In-Place to "upgrade" from Win 10 to Win 11, because they are really the same OS.
Win 11 is just a newer "version" of Win 10.

If you look at my Windows 11 SFC pic in post #6, you'll see...

Ok I went to the UUP Link and chose my options and got this
22621.2134_amd64_en-us_professional_dd479289_convert
then Unrar the file and got uup_download_windows.cmd
and ran it

so now uup_download_windows.cmd is running

The command prompt window will "seem" to stop (for a few minutes)... but don't close it.
The UUP Dump command, will clearly tell you when it's completely done. :-)

If I remember correctly... the command will take about 35 minutes total, to run.
Or maybe the 35 mins was the command and the In-Place upgrade. It's been a while. :-)

Here is the short version of the In-place upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper Standard
Making a backup is optional, but always a smart move.
If you had a backup from before this problem occurred, you wouldn't be reading this. :-)

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.

Look in the folder with the UUP Dump command.

I guess it could also be on the desktop, or in the downloads or documents folders.
Where ever it is, drag and drop it on the desktop before you mount it.


That UUP Dump command we ran... created the ISO image we will use in the In-Place upgrade.


Last time I did this was October 2021. :cool:
