Is this computer not suitable for Windows 11—it is super sluggish

A client of mine purchased this small form factor computer from Amazon:

Lenovo ThinkCentre M625 Tiny Desktop PC (AMD A4-9120c 2-Core, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, AMD Radeon R4…). It shipped with Windows 11 Pro installed. However, it runs super sluggish. Is it, because a 2-core 1.6 GHz processor is really not adequate for Windows 11?

Would it help to downgrade to Windows 11 22H2?

Its actually 2 normal cores and 2 performance cores from what i've read, Weirdly specced system in my book. Cpu will run outta juice before it even touches most of that ram.

While this system is running pull up Task Manager and go to the Performance Tab and see if you can see any high usage hardware like the CPU and/or drive. Here you can get a visual on if the CPU is at a high usage which of course will slow the whole thing down.
Could it be sluggish while it's updating itself?

Everything takes forever. Images in the Microsoft Store take a couple of minutes to load (it’s not the network speed). Sections in Settings take a long time to fully show. Logging in is very slow. Everything is super sluggish.

How do I benchmark the drive?

Not sure, what exactly you mean by the CPU running out of juice. Could you please explain?

I cannot find any AMD A4 processor on Microsoft's list of Supported AMD Processors for Windows 11. It looks like it is an unsupported device for Windows 11. No, W11 22H2 will make no difference.

While it is possible to bypass the compatibility checks and install 11 on an unsupported device, it does need to be a reasonably powerful one. The slowest unsupported device I have that runs W11 adequately has a 1st gen Intel i5-520M. This AMD A4-9120c has a benchmark about half that of mine, 830 vs. 1717.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Anything you do on that computer is gonna beat up the CPU and take it's lunch money. ^^

Why the heck would Lenovo sell this unit with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled in their store on Amazon, then? She trusted that the computer would be suitable for Windows 11 Pro.

"Suitable" is a very wide word. It can be interpreted a zillion ways.
The rest of that computer is fairly decent. They just skimped on the CPU.

Was it actually their store though? Or just a store that sold this Lenovo?
To put it simply, having “Windows 11” in the specs would sell better.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

Try to unload them on unsuspecting customers and hope for few returns? Especially since 3rd party seller.

Just a guess here but according to the link you posted Lenovo isn't selling this. It's listed as being sold by GreatPriceTech. So did Lenovo ship it with an OS or did the vendor install Win11 to sell it?

Nevermind sorry I missed that link. Yeah, they’ve loaded Windows 11 on it because it sounds better.
Windows 10 might no doubt run a lot better on that.
But i’d return it quick smart.
