Hi,
I am facing a problem whereby this USB LAN adapter isn't able to receive a working IP (it will only get IP 169) when attached to this particular laptop, but works fine when attached to another desktop/laptop. Attaching a different adapter to the laptop while using the same cable, plugging into the same wall port, it receives a working IP. So it is not the router wrong config, or the hardware problem.
I have tried the following:
I am not sure if this might be relevant but I think the problem starts when I had it disabled and plug it out, without having it enabled.
Any taker how to solve this problem, less of resetting windows.
Thank you.

I have tried the following:
- disabled, enabled hardware thru
netsh interface set interface "ethernet 3" disable
- reset network stack thru
netsh int ip reset
- reset winsock thru
netsh winsock reset
- plug it into a different USB port
- set it a static IP from Network Adaptor
