Windows 11
hi,
I am a Windows Insider in the Dev channel. Build number, 23590. Within the past 4-6 month, My laptop have not been getting any sound (no sound is coming) with the driver provided by Realtek. Yet, when I go to the device manager and switched to the driver provided by Microsoft, there is sound. I tried many things but no fixes. There seems to be an issue with Realtek.

Windows update did provide the driver from Asus, but still the same issue. I am thinking if there could be a lose cable or two inside the laptop. Don't know if it is a hardware issue.

Can there be a lose cable inside my device? Should I have a tech open my laptop and check?

I switched to the driver provided by Microsoft. I want to use the Realtek driver but no sound with the Realtek driver. No sound totally with the Realtek driver. Also, when I go to the desktop version of Line, no sound, even with the driver provided by Microsoft. I should have a tech check it out.

So, according to your response, no sound if cables are lose. If the lose cables are tightened, then the sound will return.

Updated 2 Desktops and also tried installing it as Windows to Go clean install.
No issues to report at this point.
Copilot showed up on the Windows to go Dev using the same Local Account that I use on the standard windows installation in the same PC. 😉🤷‍♂️

I went to have a tech look at my device. She helped me fix driver issue. There is sound but now, when I want to play MP3's via the Windows Media Player, I received the following error message: We can't open... It's encoded in MP3 format, which isn't supported. 0xC00D5212. How can I fix it? Plus, playing MP3's in another software will not start. Playing video files have sound but not MP3 files.
