Solved search in file manager completely quit working dead instantly finds nothing (bad Samsung EVO SSD)

I know it used to work.
Like it should find 'DDD"


But no, nothing

OK search finds nothing in these places above this PC
Search does work for This PC and below

ok, everything pinned to quick access, no searches work.
Anyone know a fix?
I unpinned a bunch then repinned documents and the search does not work

search for 'f' finds nothing

Thanks for that, so far the first 4 suggestions do not work, that leaves me with trying that batch file
That particular troubleshooter option does not exist on my PC
If that does not work, I can boot the clone copy and see if searching works, then retore it to my c drive

Ok, I am stuck it wont run scripts

I checked my clone and it works for searching, so I am cloning it with Macrium Reflex for use. I did nothing I know of to mess up the searching. Stuff just happens

This is the second time in a week where the Samsung EVO 860 has had an error develop.
I cloned from the spinner WDC drive back onto this Samsung SSD and searches are working ok.

I downloaded Samsung Magician and am doing an extended test and it found defects!!!!

Check with the vendor or the retailer you purchased it from would make sense?

@sdowney717 I'm sorry to tell you but you need a new pair of glasses. And so does everybody else in this thread.

In first post you search for "DDD" but you are looking to find "DDU".

The difference is D vs U. No wonder it does not find anything.

Hah.. I actually do need new glasses. Good catch

I have a short attention span but good vision. I was lucky to spot this one on my mobile screen.

I have a short attention span, short sight, short hair, short of a few quarts in the brain dept. And that’s no short.

Download the batch script and execute that.

It could not find 'f' and I checked others too. Look back a post #3
