I screwed up. If you want to tell me that system restore sucks and i should be imaging please do that here __________

My laptop, in general, is not working right after win debloater 11. I selectively deleted certain things using the app but it’s just not working now.

All my documents / pictures are gone. Painful mentally, but not that big of a deal.
I ‘uninstalled onedrive’ using debloat but I don’t think I even used onedrive. I thought I had it turned off. I mention this because I know that Win wants to store docs/pics ‘in’ onedrive. I’m really not sure how that works but I’ve noticed when saving docs/pics are in onedrive. I always thought I was saving to my C drive.

And yes system restore keeps failing even though the point is 3 days old. malwarebytes is off.

I don’t know what I’m asking here…where are my docs/pics?!

Login to Onedrive in a web browser using your Microsoft account. The files may still be there.

Open the PowerShell and execute bellow command to reinstall all built-in Windows apps.

Code:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

If above command won't work you can also perform in-place upgrade of Windows 11. In-place upgrade is to use to replace the current operating system files on your computer. Unlike a clean installation of Windows, you can start a Windows in-place upgrade when your OS is still running. And an in-place upgrade can keep your files, settings, & apps during the upgrade process. You can perform a Windows 11 in-place upgrade is to use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. Make sure to select Upgrade this PC now and click Next. Follow the on-screen guide to perform a Windows 11 in-place upgrade.

No they are not there and I don't know why they would be there because I had onedrive turned off.

I don’t know what I’m asking here…where are my docs/pics?!
If you logged into 11 using MSA, then files are automatically removed from PC and uploaded online.
By uninstalling onedrive, files should be online, but maybe not, if you used 3rd party email to login?
But even if files were not removed, that debloater removes onedrive folders before it is de-synced.
Onedrive can not be uninstalled as simply as they think, so maybe online files were removed too.
Code:
<#uninstallonedrive#>
Write-Output "Running disabling OneDrive..."
Write-Output "Disabling OneDrive..."

If (!(Test-Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive")) {
    New-Item -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive" | Out-Null
}
Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive" -Name "DisableFileSyncNGSC" -Type DWord -Value 1

Write-Output "Uninstalling OneDrive..."
Stop-Process -Name "OneDrive" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Start-Sleep -s 2
$onedrive = "$env:SYSTEMROOT\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe"
If (!(Test-Path $onedrive)) {
    $onedrive = "$env:SYSTEMROOT\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe"
}
Start-Process $onedrive "/uninstall" -NoNewWindow -Wait
Start-Sleep -s 2
Stop-Process -Name "explorer" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Start-Sleep -s 2
Remove-Item -Path "$env:USERPROFILE\OneDrive" -Force -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Remove-Item -Path "$env:LOCALAPPDATA\Microsoft\OneDrive" -Force -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Remove-Item -Path "$env:PROGRAMDATA\Microsoft OneDrive" -Force -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Remove-Item -Path "$env:SYSTEMDRIVE\OneDriveTemp" -Force -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
If (!(Test-Path "HKCR:")) {
    New-PSDrive -Name HKCR -PSProvider Registry -Root HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT | Out-Null
}
Remove-Item -Path "HKCR:\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}" -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Remove-Item -Path "HKCR:\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}" -Recurse -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

Write-Output "Operation Complete: Disabled and Uninstalled OneDrive"
For there future reference, before getting rid of onedrive, disable files on-demand first!

I don't know what MSA is. I almost POSITIVE I didn't use onedrive in any way. There are no files in onedrive from this laptop. I feel like those files have been shift-deleted.

The only reason I mention onedrive is because I definitely selected /delete 1D/ and I remember when saving docs and such windows would annoy me by trying to save to 1D and I would always have to redirect it to where I actually wanted it to go. And it seems like 1D would have those folders are as defaults to sync.

Do you know anything about shadowcopy? I can't even get it to run, it's missing some .net file but I don't want to screw with it if it's a waste of time

IF I got system restore to work, would it reinstate the doc/pics folders or just settings?

Have you rejected the idea of saving your files to D, rather than C:\Users?

OK @FreeBooter hooked me up with a utility called shadowcopy that I couldn't get to work...and then tried shadowexplorer. I finally got that to work. Found everything.

I SHALL start imaging again. I image on computers I am responsible for, at work, but mine...no. So I will start imagine and maybe toss in another for /user/ME
