Win 11 home
Hi ,
I bought this pc for almost 2 months, it’s a gaming pc with windows 11 home edition pre-installed on it ! Everything was fine and nothing wrong, suddenly, I got a notification on the desktop ( Activate Windows ) , trying to troubleshoot the issue, an error message with error code ( 0x8007000d ) popped up.then checked the system information, it shows the windows installed on ( 1/21/1601 ) !!!!! Knowing that windows updates works fine . Any suggestion please ??

Windows Build/Version

Take the PC back to the store you bought it from and have them repair the issue for you.

Make sure you point out the installation time discrepancy to them so that they will know why Windows is not activated now and ask them to replace the clock/BIOS battery on the motherboard while they are at it.

Unfortunately, I bought it from an individual, but it was working just fine for almost two months as I mentioned!! And the Date/time on the pc is fine now , only thing is when check the windows information, other than that it’s on the correct date/time .. I didi even the sync option for date/time and it works successfully.

Ok Kewl.

Try to follow the instructions given in the link below and reset your installation time. Fingers crossed that should allow the activation to complete after running the troubleshooter again.

You can use the following to calculate the epoch time in seconds:

I would also recommend that you change the button cell battery on the motherboard, just to be safe.

If the other suggestion of changing the date fails, I would attempt to contact support as is in the screenshot.
My question is, you bought the machine used. Are you certain it has a valid underlying license?

it shows the windows installed on ( 1/21/1601
Perhaps it was never licensed for Windows 11 and that strange date is a symptom of the method used to make it look like it had been activated.

Tried to change the installation date by using registry editor, but unfortunately nothing changed. Knowing that when using the command prompt with ( systeminfo ) , it gives me the installation date is 1/1/1601 , but when checking at settings, it gives me 1/21/1601 !!!!

When bought it , the guy made a system reset in front of me so as to remove his stuff. so, I just added my microsoft account and started installing microsoft updates and other personal stuff.

Denis

As mentioned earlier, when I bought it almost 2 months ago , he made a reset for the pc in front of me , so I waited until it finished, and then when I returned back home , just added my microsoft account and my stuff and nothing wrong until about a week ago .

If your PC has been registered in your microsoft account. then it's easy. Just login your microsoft account, supposed it should be fixed when login.

(microsoft account should have all of your device legal information)

Otherwise, hmm, , , likely a fake Windows 11 Home key was used.

None of your comments disprove the possibility that the seller faked activation.
There used to be members who specialised in investigating activation problems in Windows 7 & 10. Perhaps one of them will join in this conversation.
I have not noticed any threads like yours in ElevenForum.

Perhaps this discussion of the activation troubleshooter might help you?
