HI

Anyone could help me debug this error? 0xC1900101 – 0x4001E

I am trying to do in place update to dev 22598.100 from 22557.1 but I am recieving above error. Update fails in rhe second boot phase durinf pre-oobe phase.

Allready tried all typical solutions that I could find in google but it is always fails at 94%.

I was trying with and without AV but does not change anything, also sfc restore health etc.
I have tried also deleting softwaredistribution fodler, reanming provisioning reg key but with no luck.

In attachement I am adding last error file from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther

Thank you for your help

Error log is in polish language in some places.

Ok, I did a search again did some mentioned things, but still the same, but the error log is a bit smaller now.

Take a look

Any ideas? Maybe the problem is the wpndatabase mentioned in the error log at the end, but I have no idea how to deal with it.

Make sure you have SVM/VT-d enabled in the bios. I was having the same issue with 22598.1 and .100 (3 fails each) till I saw that mentioned and enabled it (SVM in my case) and the update installed no problem.

Yeah 165GB of free space

I think this might be a problem that is written in log.

The WOF Driver encountered a corruption in the compressed file’s Resource Table.

But already did restore health, etc options, even using iso image

It's strange you are seeing that error when doing an in place upgrade, but not when also running dism. Just to make sure, run dism again using the /checkhealth argument rather than /restorehealth

It seems that you have a possibly corrupted registry subkey.

It's strange you are seeing that error when doing an in place upgrade, but not when also running dism.
That's because DISM only checks for corruption in a particular set of subkeys, most notably the CBS hive and Components.

Just checked the error code and either the key is missing or corrupt. It seems there is additional keys missing as well:

Rich (BB code):
2022-04-19 13:11:00, Error SP pSPRemoveUpgradeRegTree: failed to delete reg tree HKLM\SYSTEM\Setup\Upgrade[gle=0x00000005]

I would open a command prompt window and then enter the following commands:

Rich (BB code):
reg query HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CTF\TIP\{E429B25A-E5D3-4D1F-9BE3-0C608477E3A1}\LanguageProfile\0x00000804

That is a language profile key. Using an iso file on the page where you chose "keep personal files and folders" at the bottom of the page did you see a warning that the upgrade has to be performed using the same language as the installed version of windows?
