It does. Not perfectly, though.

Isn't good enough to beat Photoshop. But I think "CoPilot" would punch "Sensei" (Adobe's AI) in the near future!
At least I realized AIs don't work exactly like each other...

They just have to fiddle to justify their salaries!

Since the past week, I've switched to the new MS Paint (from the classic MS Paint). TBH, I love the new smooth zoom and centred canvas. The only thing which is on my nerves is its disgusting ribbon. I hope they add an option to minimize/hide it.

Just in case anyone wants them....

In any case the GIMP (free) and Photoshop IMO are the best bar none if you really want to do this stuff.

I don’t think I have ever used Paint… ever. Gimp is a good call, but Photoshop, what’s the lowest cost for a subscription? Still unaffordable for many. As for background removal, I doubt it’s meant to be used on anything complicated/complex (yet), the result looks absolutely terrible.

I have a better idea, HHGRBT (= human's hand-generated remove background tool). Easy, fast and super clean extraction (subject from background). Without any rubbish AI technology interference:

BTW, hands up who recognised the Bliss.bmp desktop hiding behind MS's own screenshot in post #1 (it's our rule, we can break it).

It's not the original XP Bliss. Microsoft is advertising its Nostalgia Wallpaper Pack. They recreated the Bliss 4K version and shipped it as a nostalgia WP pack. Almost all Microsoft screenshots are advertising its wallpapers on purpose.


Since a tweet revealed Satya Nadella's tweet about Windows 12, I realised the words below meaning "Public" in the Microsoft ecosystem:
Confidential = Public
Insiders Test = Public Test (you can try insider features in the stable channel with the help of ViveTool)
Canary Channel = Public Channel (you can get the optional feature by toggling a button on the WU Setting page in the stable channel)
A/B CFR (Controlled Feature Rollout) = PFR (Public Feaure Rollout) but by tossing a dice!

We live in a public world, and there is nothing confidential out there. All our confidentials are on Microsoft, Google... cloud servers.

Thanks for the link. Yes, I have seen a documentary about Mr. O'Rear on YT. If you like, I can share the YouTube link (If Mr. Brink lets me share it here). I have seen a lot of documentaries, and this one was one of the best documentaries I have seen about computers (specifically about Windows). I love the second photograph (SS below), which was neglected by Microsoft at the time.



The interesting part is the CD! Mr Gates stock photos company (web store):

They chose this photograph from a galaxy of stock photos. I think the colour combination, blue-green with white (clouds) as a balancing colour (also nature), had an important role in this photograph for nomination as an OS wallpaper. AFAIK, These three (nature) colours make a satisfying feel in the human brain. We have a lot of such scenery in our region (crystal clear blue sky with green heels and fields), and I like it because it's energetic.

I didn't even know there was an original Bliss screensaver.

Many thanks . I have seen the location on GMap (after watching the documentary). But I didn't notice the 360-degree view (in the last photo, I didn't scroll down to the end). I love it (360 scene). Unfortunately, it's brown! I think the Google car took photos in the autumn. It is now a vineyard.

I just tested removing the background in a photo. It actually did a good job. Does anyone know how to replace the background in paint? Taking a quick look I didn't see any option.
