Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Build: 22631
Hello,
after the latest updates from version 22H2, I noticed that when I turn off the system, it stops normally, but not completely,
the fans and the power light remain on for another 20 sec. about.
What can be the cause?
Thank you

Maybe the CPU temperature was high, so the delay is due to cool down the CPU. Sometimes it happens to me. The important thing is that your system is turn off within a reasonable time.

No, I wouldn't say so, it doesn't exceed 50 °C

As was stated it could be to a heat issue but I would say it's more likely 23h2 made changes to power management. The way Windows handles power depends a lot on a system's bios. No one knows exactly what changes MS made in 23H2 (or any update for that matter) that affects power. As 11 evolves it is not surprising if a 15 year old dual core cpu running an old bios experiences changes.

Both of my Desktops don't immediately shut down but I attribute it more to doing an orderly clearing of data from memory and/or closing of programs so as not to lose anything.

Is it not related to "fast startup" ? When this option is activated, after shutdown of the screen, Windows saves its configuration in order to make startup faster.

It didn't strike my mind [hammer not big enough] but it certainly could be the Windows 'housekeeping' doing it.

In my system there is no option to boot fast or not.
The issue arose with a June/August 2023 22H2 update.
The complete shutdown delay is approximately 15-20 sec. and in that period only the blue light remains on, but the disc light remains off..

I noticed that it reports an error in the events.

It may be because I moved the collection folders C:/ SSD to another D:/HDD?
The complete shutdown delay is approximately >30 sec. and in that period only the blue light remains on, but the disc light remains off..

I tried to restore possibly with FixDotNet, but it fails..

Thank you
