How do I stop 11 from silent installing apps?

I setup my HP printer last night. (I know I know, I'm gong to run it over with a truck and buy a Brother soon)

Today I look in apps and there many HP plugins installed I don't use and do no want.

How do I stop this crap from being installed?

Note: I've already gone through and disable all the suggestions, tips, and ads.

I've disabled install drivers from update and set windows update to notify before download.

I jumped on the Brother train myself 2 weeks ago. First printer I've ever owned that isn't a HP and I will never look back. Brother lasers are awesome.

Can you please tell exactly what apps were installed? You can post a screenshot of the section in settings-apps-installed apps that apply to HP

I'm running 2 HP MFP/AIO printers on my LAN, an OfficeJet Pro and a LaserJet Pro. The only HP software I got that I didn't ask for is called HP Smart, understandable since I have the hardware. The Ethernet-connected printers have proven more reliable in their connection than using Wireless/Wi-Fi, haven't needed their Wireless Direct.

I uninstalled them as soon as I found them. There were all HP Plugins, smtp, email, etc etc. 6 or 7 of them.

During installation of an HP printer HPSmart is also automatically installed even though you just said no on the screen before.

I uninstall that before the installer is even finished.

Curious, which model HP printer do you own?

I own an HP Officejet 5740 printer, which I've had about 12 years now and have had absolutely no problems with it. Of course, you have to do maintenance and use it often. I remove the ink cartridges if they have been in there for more than a couple of months and soak them in warm water, wipe them off and they're good for a couple more months. Just use them up before the expiration date. Other than that, I use the clean printer head feature every now and then and keep the printer set to 'best quality' print. When installing HP printer software, I use custom install and untick the programs I don't want installed. I don't use any software which comes with the printer, instead I go directly to HP.com. The site scans which model I have and provides the driver information. This is my third HP printer since the 1990s, everyone of them have been great printers. I only change them to get newer features. I connect my printer using Wi-Fi, never a problem.

HP Envy 6000
It's wireless, all in one.

The only reason we bought it is because the ink cartridges, that are exactly the same as the ones for our last HP printer except for the sticker on the outside with the number on it, cost half the price.

We normally leave it turned off because there's no way to turn off the annoying rgb lighing in the front and only turn it on momentarily when we want to print or scan something.

That's where the issue is, if having an HP device it shouldn't be a problem but if there's never never ever been an HP device installed on the computer that shouldn't be happening. If there ever was an HP device installed on the computer then uninstalled some may have been left behind in the Registry that triggered it, saw it happen once when I replaced an older HP printer on a computer and it kept offering driver updates for the old one.

But maybe because it's a HP computer NOT a printer.
This last January I used autoruns to stop any and all HP start ups. (There are more this is just some )

This popped up last night.

I use Window Firewall Control because without it, Microsoft controls the firewall.
(I don't use a third party firewall, can't comment on those)
