Keyboard Backlit MSI

Greetings,
I have had that laptop for a couple of months now.
By removing the MSI Control Center I solved all my issues.
I am using OpenRGB for the keyboard backlit. Its working well. The MSI Control Center allowed it to sleep when laptop went to sleep. Now it stays on when laptop sleeps. How could I make sure that the keyboard backlit goes to sleep when the laptop goes to sleep ? - Without having to re-install MSI Control Center :)

Short answer is that you have to make a Scheduled task with 2 triggers, one for when you logon, which loads your RGB profile and one for when computer goes to sleep, which terminates the app or changes profile to OFF.

How to do this in practice I don't know...but that's what Google suggests.

I did investigate a bit further and the usb ports are not powered down. I am suspecting that could be the root cause of the keyboard backlit being on all the time ?

That, too, but you might wanna avoid turning off USB ports during sleep. Sleeping USB tend to cause issues during wakeup (they don't wake up properly) and often only way to solve the issue is by rebooting the system. However the approach may work well for you...but just be aware of the "risk".

Wondering what issues you were having with MSI Control Panel. I've used it for several years now and works well, I especially like the controls for the fans. I do have the latest installed from the MSI support download. The version I show is 2.0.145.0. It may be the Steel Series utility you need to install, it controls the keyboard lighting.

You didn't have to delete everything. You could have left the driver for keyboard backlight control. It can be found using Autoruns64.
I don't remember how I did it and now maybe something has changed.
