Ok so I upgraded last week from Win10 Pro to Win 11. Sound is muffled, using the onboard sound which previously worked fine and was crystal clear. Updated Bios yesterday on my gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 mobo but still got the same issue. Creative Labs T40 speakers. Answers on a postcard.... done all the Windows updates etc.

Winver reports me having update 22H2 build 22621.2283

All assistance appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I'd be looking at the sound driver first..
Also, look at the optional updates. Windows Update>Advanced Options>Optional Updates>Driver Updates

Oh dear issue resolved. Number 1 rule. Check all connections. The cable from the sub-woofer under the desk had come loose and I hadn't even noticed it.... apologies to all.
