Hi all,

What is the deal with "C:\Users\XXXXXX/OneDrive\Desktop\IMG_0056.MOV"

Is this actually going to onedrive? AFAIK I don't even have onedrive running and I do not want anything going to onedrive.
I assume this is new to W11?

Check the properties>location tab of your desktop, documents, and pictures folders. You will probably see that those folders are syncing to onedrive and are not in your
C:\users\yourusername folder.

It's users/name/onedrive I do not want this...it must be a default setting in W11. How do I change this?

The tutorial I listed is very detailed. Read it carefully. Once you get syncing turned off your have to manually move your files back into your user folder.

What seems to trip people up when reading it is the confusion about whether they have old onedrive or new onedrive. Best way I can describe it is, when you click on onedrive icon in your task try, click gear icon, select settings. If it takes you to "Sync & Backup" page, you have new onedrive.

If you click on onedrive icon in task tray, gear icon, settings and it takes you to a page with tabs, you have old onedrive.
Once you know which version of onedrive you have, folow the steps in the tutorial that applies to it.

If you want to turn off syncing and get your files back to your PC, Option One of that tutorial glasskuter posted works.
