OS
Windows 11
Working on DELL desktop, initially with Windows 10 & upgraded to Windows 11 aka Windows NIGHTMARE. I want to go back to W10, but "Reset this PC" will not allow me to. When I click on "Reset PC" A window from User Account Control pops up. I enter my password from Microsoft or dell and it tells me it's incorrect. This is what's on the pop-up. Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Verified publisher Microsoft Windows to continue. Enter in admin username and password in the box. I've even tried pressing F2, F8 & F12 multiple times at start up and that doesn't work.
Please can someone get me out of Windows 11? Thank you very much. Scott

The reset will not reinstall Windows 10 if your computer don't have factory backup image.

In this video, i will show you how to go back to the previous Windows from Windows 11 without losing your documents, photos, and other personal files.

Hello Scott, and welcome. :-)

If it's been less than 10 days since you upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, then you can use option two below to go back to the previous Windows.

If it's been longer than 10 days, you will have to clean install Windows 10 instead.

I assume you mean the passwords you set for your Admin user accounts, one of which is an MSAccount-linked user account & one of which is a local user account, but I'm a bit confused by your choice of words.

You don't mention any problem signing in to these accounts normally.

If you do not know the passwords for your Admin accounts then you will need to enable the Built-in Admin account Enable or Disable Built-in Administrator Account - Option #5 - ElevenForumTutorials
- You can use it to create an Admin account of your own. I suggest you create a local, password-protected Admin user account so you can regain control of your computer.
- You can use it to reset the password of a local Admin account [but not an MSAccount-linked account] Reset Password for Account - ElevenForumTutorials
- You should disable the Built-in Admin account again when you've finished.

Best of luck,
Denis
