Problem with the media streams

Hi

I am using Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise and have enabled media streams to play various videos on the Samsung UE32J6300 Smart-TV.

Even though I have allowed this Smart-TV to receive the media streams from the Windows Control Panel and if the TV is visible from File Explorer in the Network section, when I choose the "Stream to Device" item from the Pop-Up menu of a media file on File Explorer, the name of the Smart-TV is not displayed even though it is turned on. How come?

I can’t answer your question.

I gave up messing with Windows Media Sharing moons ago. I now use Plex Media Server

Download Plex
Create a free account
Create a folder to contain your media you want to view on your Samsing, or point Plex to the folder that contains your Media
Mess with the settings in Plex if you need to.
Make sure TV and PC are using the same internet network, wifi or Ethernet, it doesn’t matter as long as they share the network.
Turn on TV
Either download the Plex app for your TV (easiest) or go to wherever Media access is accessable on your Samsung (I can’t tell you because I own a LG)
Choose Plex Media Server (or just use app Plex app on your TV)
Play media.

At least that is exactly how easy it is for me.

Another option and the one I use is called Mezzmo. It's free and no account needed unlesss you want to access your content over the internet. For my use the free version does all that I need.
