Put clock on desktop.

W11
I have been using W7 in 3 machines for a long time & LOVE IT. I now have a new laptop.

However, my laptop maker only installs W11 & I am now totally lost. Because the taskbar on my new 17" W11 laptop is small & narrow, I cannot read the clock at the far right of the taskbar, even with reading specs on.

I have come here to find an answer to this question = how do I put a clock on the desktop ?
Cheers.
TerryW.

A 3rd party app is probably the best way to acheive this, although a temporary workaround is to open the control panel then open the time options and leave that window open, it shows both an analogue and digital style clock that updates and is likely large enough for you.

I'm fumbling my way around & will look for Store.

I'd be gtateful if you'd direct me to 3rd party apps........I'm new to 11 & haven't a clue right now.
I'll try the control panel dodge when I next fire the laptop up.
Thanks.

Hello.
The w7 taskbar on all my 4 machines was more than adequate & I had no need of a desktop clock.
Thanks for the link to this clock. When I get home later to the W11 machine I'll try it.........

I went to store & now have the clock but I don't know where it is installed & I cannot find it. The control panel has a clock but the page it's on is too big to leave open.

The MS store clock didn't get a good review & I was thwarted trying to work out how to get it.

I cannot find a built-in gadget/widget option icon to click.....I don't know what it looks like either should I see it.

All in all, I think my best bet is keeping a clock nearby me !!

It may not be what you desire but, perhaps is an alternative:
A momentary digital clock screensaver, pinned to the Taskbar, or assign a keyboard shortcut...

If you open the Microsoft Store from Windows, then the app might be available under the Library section otherwise I would suggest searching for the term ".Clocks" from the Start Menu.

The clock hasn't really changed in size between Windows 7 and Windows 11. Have you checked that your screen resolution is set correctly for your monitor size?

Edwin & BlueRobot............Thanks & I will come back to this tomorrow. I have had this W11 machine for 6 days which is why I feel totally lost !

I have W7 machines & have been making airfields, etc, for my FS2004 for 15 yrs or so, so don't think of myself as a computer duffer........11 is completely different & I feel somewhat intimidated.

I know I will get used to it eventually......please !! Chaps like you will stop me going completetly mad.

Resulution for this PCSpecialist 17" screen is 1920 x1080 & recommended.

I'll be back tomorrow.....cheers.
Terry.
I forgot to say, the W7 clock is a nice looking job but I never used it.

One adjustment I make is in Display Settings [right-click of desktop] and adjust the size of icons and text, now at 175% on 14" Notebook with resolution at the Recommended maximum.

Thanks Stexred for the T-clock info.
I've put it onto my to do list.

Berton - I've increased it to 125 & the taskbar clock is now just readable. Thanks.

Ghot - thanks for that link. I'll do some exploring.

I use rainmeter app on my PC just for some aesthetics. But on my second screen I have a skin to show the date & time, too.

And speaking of clocks, I always wanted to get one of those nixie tube clocks because they look very cool. But they are too damn expensive for a clock, so this recycled old phone will do for now... :ROFLMAO:
