Solved Removing thumb drive.

Since I updated to version 22000.258 today. When I click on the icon in the notification area then safely remove the thumb drive I no longer get a flyout notification or the notification sound. I do get a notification circle in the far left corner telling me it's safe to remove. Anyone got any ideas as this is quite important to me as I use a lot of thumb drives and it slows me down checking every time as I am used to glancing at the corner or hearing the sound. thanks.

If you get the Eject USB.... line, that's all there is anymore.
The secondary flyout is gone. MS patched it out apparently.
I do still get the sound when I Insert or remove the USB stick. But not when clicking on the remove icon.

Either that, or it's not working on mine also.
It's the same for me, on Win 10 or Win 11.

All I see now is... Eject Voyager GTX. When I click that, then the primary flyout disappears.







Then when I click on "Eject Voyager GTX", everything just disappears.

By default, is not necessary to safely remove a UFD, because the write buffer (if it exists) is not enabled. You can change this in Device Manager. In the "Directives" tab for the UFD, change the Directive to "Better performance", although I don´t know if this has in fact any effect.

Have you ever received a message that the UFD cannot be removed?

Don't want to risk corrupting data, also if I do that it often asks me to scan the drive for errors

Strange, but mine went back to normal all on it's own despite restarting with no change and then a few hours later bang it worked like before.

Only message I get is either it's safe to remove or it is in use

Thanks for help, all sorted. I restarted the computer, no change and it was like it for the rest of the day. Today it was like it once and then went back to normal on it's own ..... Magic

I tried it on my second machine after the update and that was fine as well Ghot
