Hi, Greetings from Indonesia.

I've problems after upgrading my Laptop to WIn 11 23H2 manually using ISO (from the Microsoft site).
It makes booting time slower (It almost takes 1 minute), but the task manager shows "Last BIOS Time: 3.8 seconds".

*I mean it happened on the booting screen (Shows the Legion Logo with an animated loading circle below it).
*Sometimes there is stutter/lag on the mouse cursor.
*When clicking on the wifi/sound/battery icon there is lag/freeze till opened only once per restart/reboot/power on.

I've done:
  • SFC & DISM command, nothing worked.
  • I cleaned and reinstalled Graphic Driver using DDU, but nothing worked.
I also disabled fast startup from the beginning, long ago before I did the Upgrade and it is still faster boot up compared to now.
Is there any solution to this problem?

*system specs that I use: Lenovo Legion 5 15ARH05
  • AMD Ryzen 4800H
  • 16 GB of RAM
  • Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti
  • NVMe SSD 512GB for C, Samsung 870 Evo 1TB For D & E.

Here's how to fix slow boot startup time on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
The advice in the video is that "fast startup" only works, other than that it doesn't.
It's just that I deliberately turned off fast startup because in the past it caused an error with the WiFi adapter, where it couldn't detect WiFi and had to be restarted.

Maybe I should use it again now.

Optimize Your Hard Drive.
Install the newest version of device drivers.
Sometimes an inappropriate power plan could affect your computer’s performance.

I've done it and still doesn't work at all.
My drivers all up to date.
Power plan is default one "balance".

That one only works is "fast startup" option like I said before. I stopwatch it 6.48s from off condition, and Last Bios Time: 3.8s. So it is faster and my wifi adapter still works no error like past time.

I think I'll wait and see for an update, and stay with current condition/setup if there's no problem. If needed I'll reset/clean install windows.

It feels really weird but for me my "fix" for the slow boot time is to update the realtek audio driver with a High Definition Audio Device via Device Manager.

I came to this conclusion because every time I upgrade W11 dev, it screwed up my AMD drivers so reinstalling is needed, then the AMD drivers screwed my audio drivers (crackling sound, no sound)... then reinstalling audio drivers to default High Definition Audio Device.

I fixed mine
It was my amd software driver
I fresh installed 22h2 and it was normal
After installing my amd driver 23.11 something, even 22h2 started taking 2 min to boot...i have now again re install windows(22h2) and used an old amd driver found on my laptop manufacturer web page...working successfully

Noted.
Maybe this is the culprit. I hope there will be new driver to fix it.

You use amd as well?
For Ryzen 4800H yes, because there is iGPU in that processor. For simple task that will always work, Nvidia will kick in heavy task such as gaming, 3D design, etc.

I've this issue with AMD driver 23.11.1 in that it slows the loading times somewhat but will live with it until the next update.

Is this only a problem when 23H2 is installed manually? I was offered 23H2 in Windows Update and updated it there. I don't seem to have a problem with boot time.
