Figured out the bios update on an older ASUS MB.
I had the correct bios file, but it kept giving an error when selecting the ROM from the download folder on the system drive.
After I copied the ROM file to a small USB, it accepted the file as legit and wrote the bios over.
On ASUS website, there are like 10 variants of this board with slightly different designations, and only one Bios Rom will work.
This message here, is what you will see when attempting to read a ROM from the hard drive. This was the correct rom file. I was surprised it kept refusing as supposedly it can properly read the file from an NTFS drive, but it can't. And it even can navigate the folders fine too.
