On random occasions my systems just freezes - everything stops. There is no BSOD, no system dumps, no error messages. WIndows Trace Table shows nothing other than ""Previous shutdown was unscheduled". sfc /scannow reports no problems. CBS log shows nothing unusual. Antivirs programs show nothing either: WIndows Security, MRT, Hitman Pro, SuperAntiVirus. I'm hoping the attached V2 Log info will help identify the cause.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Random freezes may be caused by any number of things, faulty RAM, faulty CPU, faulty HDD's or SSD's or rogue software etc...

Try booting the machine in safe mode and let it run for a few hours. If there are no freezes in that time, then assume it is a software issue.

Disable all startup apps and then restart the PC. Let it run for a few hours and if no freezes occur, enable one app at startup, reboot and test for an hour or two. Then re-enable another app at startup, reboot and test. Repeat until all apps are re-enabled or until you find the culprit responsible for the freezes.

I did notice this in Event Viewer logs and it may indicate an issue with your graphics card or possibly an M.2 drive.

I’ve had this happen a few times with 22H2. I’m still on 22H2, but it seems like it subsided some now.

Thanks for the feedback.

The M2 is a Samsung SSD boot drive. I'll see if Samsung Magician has any info about it or some diagnostics. The graphics card is a fairly new AMD, but I can run OK without it.

Unfortunately, Samsung Magician may not be able to run Diagnostics on that drive. They tend not to have any S.M.A.R.T data available for those drives, which is bizarre if you ask me.

If you can remove the graphics card, then do so and use the Intel graphics for a while. If it does not freeze then, you can suspect the new graphics card to have an issue of some sort. I'm inclined to think it may be driver related, but anything is possible.

I also have a Samsung M.2 as my boot drive, never thought it might be the issue. I also have an old/older AMD 7770 2GB graphics card, I don’t game, so I’ve never thought about upgrading it, it seems to work fine for my needs.

My machine hasn't froze in a while "month or so" it seems to do it mostly when I click on a video from a local news station. YouTube and all other type videos work good, just the local news stations videos, and it doesn't freeze every time on those, just randomly.
